Personally I really enjoyed my time at Marino. Straight away we learned the basics of journalism and that gives us that solid base that you need to start the course from and to carry them basics on with you throughout the work during the year. You know straight away whether this course is for you or not. Despite this course only being a year long, I feel like I have gained plenty of knowledge and understanding of journalism as a whole which I can carry on to my further studies and later down the line in my job. All the lecturers are really understanding, helpful and have full amount of knowledge about their area. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who was even half thinking of getting into the journalism and digital media area.

Hi I’m Sarah Mangan and I have just finished studying the Journalism with Digital Photography course in Marino college. This course has opened my eyes into the real world of journalism and has provided me with the skills necessary and the confidence needed to be a good journalist. Each friday we had a work placement. This entitled us to work within a suitable environment linked to our course. It was a great opportunity to meet people working in an area that we were studying and in turn, learning from their experiences. This course also provides the students with many outings such as Edinburgh, photography classes all around dublin and you can’t forget the daring trip to the Criminal Court to watch a court case. I couldn’t praise this course enough as I have built many strong friendships and work connections that will help me in the future. Thanks to Marino and all the teachers there, I have now bagged a place at DCU for this coming year. I would highly recommend this course for anyone who has an interest in journalism or photography.

I am currently studying Journalism, in Marino College of Further Education and I absolutely love it. As much as I procrastinate about doing the assignments, I really do enjoy working on them. My favourite modules would have to be Media Analysis, Research Skills , Writing Skills and Photography. Last December we went on a trip to Edinburgh I will never forget that trip, I had so much fun. Anyone who is doing this course next year, the Edinburgh trip is not to be missed. For the Photography Module we have been on many day trips. We have gone to Howth, Skerries, Bray, The Botanic Gardens and we are  soon to go to Dublin Zoo and Belfast.

The tutors are extremely accommodating they really care about their students and  want to see  them  succeed. I found it very easy to settle into the college as it has such a friendly atmosphere. This course has so many links to Third Level Education, in many different Universities, with an array of courses to choose from. I have learned so much so far and I would happily recommend this course to anyone.
