There are no formal entry requirements. All applicants will be interviewed. Prospective students should demonstrate an interest in photography at their interview.
On a number of days during the year, students will be required to undertake a number of client directed photographic tasks typical of tasks performed by professional photographers all of which count as certified work experience.
The aim of this course is to help students produce an excellent photographic portfolio. students are encouraged to explore in details various photographic themes through project-based work.
As part of the assessment students produce an exhibition of their work at the end of the year.
As well as the core photographic theory, camera control, lighting and digital darkroom techniques, students are taken on a visual journey of contemporary and historicac photographic practice to aid the development of their own photographic style.

Students use their portfolio to apply to DIT, IADT, university of Wales or other British Universities for the degree in Photography or other related courses. The portfolio course is also suitable for students who wish to produce an excellent collection of work in order to persue a career in photographic paractice.
