Hello, My name is Sarah Dolan and I finished studying an Introduction to Nursing Studies course in Marino College. I started the course in September 2013. It was definitely the best decision I made to come to Marino college and do a Pre-nursing course. It has sealed my thoughts that I definitely want to become a nurse. From studying this course I have learned life long skills that I never realised I had before. The work experience opportunity we get is amazing. As we do it every Tuesday throughout the year I really got the chance to feel what a real job feels like. I think doing this course is extremely useful for all people thinking of nursing as a career. It also benefits you a lot for when you go onto University and gives you the chance to mature. The course gives people the opportunity that didn’t get the points in the leaving certificate to still have the opportunity to do nursing as a career. I would definitely recommend this course.

I have just finished my year in Marino College where I undertook the FETAC Level 5 Tourism with Business Course. Doing this course gave me so many different opportunities to work within the tourism industry resulting in me getting a job with Swissport in the airport as a passenger service agent. The course helped me improve on my confidence hugely and prepared me for the job I am currently in today.
The course is an extremely exciting and interesting course as it doesn't just cover one aspect of the industry it covers them all so it really is for anybody that has any interest in the tourism industry. My future plans are to hopefully progress within the Swissport company as hard work results in many achievements in the job. I would highly recommend this course to anybody, it really caters for everybody and can also help you to develop to your fullest potential, to achieve the goals you set out for yourself. I made some of the best friends here and enjoyed every minute of my time in Marino College.

Going to Marino College and studying Travel & Tourism gave me the opportunity to gain valuable skills. Not only did I gain a whole new level of confidence I got to see what working in my chosen industry is like. Since finishing my course I am now working in a customer service job building up experience and I am aiming to have a successful career in either Cabin Crew or as a Check-In Agent. I would highly recommend the course as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I completed the Fetac Level 5 Course - Health Service Skills in Marino College of Further Education in May 2012.
The Course facilitated by very committed and helpful staff offered a very good training in Care Skills and Support to Clients, Infection Prevention and Control, Patient Moving and Handling and Occupational First Aid. We studied the Care of the Older Person which has been very useful as they represent many of the people I care for presently. The course provided us with the opportunity to participate in Work Experience enabling us to put the theory we were learning in college into practice in the workplace. We also studied Communications and Workplace Policies which are helpful when one is now in the workplace.
I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to do this course as it has given me valuable knowledge and training. The qualification has enabled me to obtain work that brings job satisfaction and the privilege that caring for people is.

When I started this course, I had no clue how I would cope with the workload and let alone the work placement, college, assignments but once I started, everything fell into its right place. I really enjoyed the work placement. Working with Elderly people gave me different insight into life and it made me realize what I am actually capable of doing. Seeing a smile on their faces after assisting them with something so insignificant for us yet magnificent for them made me realize how each of us as individuals is capable of change. We may think and regard many things as small but yet whatever we do it will have huge impact on the other.
With regard to the course workload, it was “doable” as everyone was helpful and there was clear guidelines on regards how you may achieve each task. Honestly it was an amazing opportunity and life changing chance where I met extraordinary group of people and lecturers. I'm currently looking for a job as a Healthcare assistant, and from my research, I concluded that there is plenty of job opportunities for me out there."

Starting the level 6 admin course I was a bit nervous as to whether I would enjoy the course. But from day one I absolutely loved it. Everything, from the event organisation to the in-class debates were all great. All the teachers were great and couldn't do enough for me. I couldn't have done this without them and the help of my classmates. I particularly liked organising our auction in aid of The Five Lamps Art Festival as we could help the local community as well as learning some great organisational skills! A big thanks to everyone who made the last your such an enjoyable one!

I also want to take this opportunity to thank you for everything. Without this course I would not be where I am today, working for both the Irish Daily Mail and CollegeTimes.com, so I am very grateful for all the help and teachings you and all at Marino have given me.

As a mature person, I was accepted by the staff and fellow students as an equal when I started at Marino College. The course content was excellent with experienced and knowledgeable staff where nothing was too much trouble. The college opened up new opportunities and helped me find a new career direction. It is a very friendly place and I have made lots of new friends. The college gets ten out of ten from me.

· There is a atmosphere in the college and certainly on our course that made it a very friendly, family like, positive place to work. The class gelled very quickly and I think that was down to the friendly, caring, enthusiastic nature of the tutor.
· The plays that were organised in conjunction with the Seán O'Casey theatre were a great experience. It was a valuable for students to work in a proper working theatre.
· Workshops from external trainers were frequent and added to the diversity of the course. It was good to meet people from different areas of the acting industry and it added good variety
· The dance/movement was extremely good and I found the tutor, extremely helpful and encouraging to a class where most people (like myself) were not dancers. It built great understanding and awareness of the body and movement for me.
· The enthusiasm and work put in by the course tutor, for me was unbelievable. I felt she did amazing work……… and her encouragement for me was extremely valuable.
