Fashion Industry practice (Course no.1296)
Duration: One year full-time course - FETAC Level 6 Award AFIPX

Aims
The Fashion Industry Practice Course is aimed at those who wish to pursue a career in fashion and related industries.  It is also suitable for those who already work in fashion retail as this course will build upon existing knowledge through training in styling, fashion promotion, buying and merchandising.  This unique course will provide students with an integrated knowledge of the various aspects of fashion styling, fashion promotion, buying, merchandising and fashion photography.  The course provides an exciting educational experience that incorporates practical training and creative practice. Technical and professional skills are nurtured alongside creative and conceptual initiatives and through practical and theoretical assignments students will develop broad understanding of fashion industry practice.

Entry Requirements
Applications are welcome from those who wish to pursue a career in the fashion or related industries. Existing experience in fashion or fashion retail is an advantage. All applicants will be interviewed.

Fashion Buying & Retailing Event Production
Fashion Promotion Fashion Photography
Desk Top Publishing  

Students will follow a programme of studies and industry standard training in all subjects and will produce a professional photo shoot and an end of year fashion show. This dynamic programme will offer students the chance to gain the skills, knowledge and experience that are needed to progress onto a career within the fashion industry.

Future Prospects
Having secured experience and skills in fashion industry practice, students may wish to use this as a foundation for entry into further studies, including fashion related degrees. Students who complete the course will gain practical experience in a broad range of areas in fashion industry and a portfolio of images that showcase their skills as a stylist.  Having successfully completed the course graduates can expect to commence work across a broad range fashion led areas including  media, publishing, PR, trainee fashion stylist, wardrobe, costume.
