This course is designed for those who
wish to pursue careers in the areas of journalism, photo-journalism and photography.
This course aims to give practical experience in editing, layout of print production through the collaborative production of the college magazine which will be published at the end of the second term. They will also learn a range of journalistic skills including the ability to write different articles for publication in a range of media.
Leaving Certificate standard including
Leaving Certificate Applied. All applicants will be interviewed.

One day per week throughout the year will be spent in suitable place of employment.
Students will undertake photographic assignments relevant to newspaper, magazines
and other publications. Students produce the college newsletter.
Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC).
Having secured experience and skills
in journalism and photography, students may wish to use
this as a foundation for entry into further studies, including degrees.
Other students may also seek direct employment in the area of photography, journalism, communications and
public relations.
It is also possible for students to join the Journalism Course in Colaiste Dhulaigh College of Further Education and progress to a degree qualification validated by the University of Wolverhampton. Entry requirements: Interview and Portfolio of Course Work. |
