This two-year course is designed to prepare students to work competently, safely and effectively with young children. It is ideal both for school-leavers and mature people seeking a formal qualification. Having successfully completed year one, students
progress to the Diploma in Pre-School Practice certified by CACHE.

The majority of students who successfully
complete this course progress to the Diploma in Pre-School
Practice. Where students wish to progress to employment,
there are opportunities that include working in Pre-School Centres, Day
Nurseries, Crèches, Child Care Residential Centres,
Hospitals and as Nannies. There are links with related
courses in Institutes of Technology in Ireland & the
Degree course in Early Childhood Studies U.C.C.
Marino College is one of a small number of colleges approved to provide this Diploma
in Ireland. It is certified by CACHE Council for Awards in Childcare and Education) which is the leading provider of nationally recognised awards in early years care and education in the UK.
Successful completion of FETAC Level 5 Child Care, or equivalent qualification.
