This course is designed to enable students to work as Special Needs Assistants (SNA's) in Primary and Secondary Schools and also in the Community.
The student will learn a wide range of skills which will enable them to work with and to support the teacher working with pupils with a range of learning, behavioural and physical disabilities in the educational area.
Leaving Certificate standard including
Leaving Certificate Applied. Applications will also be considered from people without the above educational qualifications. All applicants will have to attend for interview.

Students may find their work experience in a Primary or Secondary school of their choice.
Following completion of this course, students may gain employment in Pre-School centres, in Primary and Secondary schools as Special Needs Assistants (SNA's), in Day Nurseries, Childcare Residential Centres, Hospitals and as Nannies.
There are links with related courses in Institutes of Technology in Ireland and with certain University degree courses.
