There are no fees for tuition. However it is important that students should budget to cover the cost of the various student services such as examination fees, insurance and registration charges. Details of these charges are available on request from the college.
Students attending full-time approved courses at Marino College are eligible to apply for a maintenance grant. The Grant is based solely on income and where students wish to proceed with an application it is necessary to apply to one’s local Vocational Education Committee.
A limited number of places are available for mature students each year as related to the demands from leaving certificate students for places in the various courses. Students who are over 21 and in receipt of social welfare payment or signing for credits for at least 6 months may be entitled to no loss of benefit plus an additional
allowance and spouses may also qualify for financial support.
All students may avail of a Career Guidance and Counselling Service. This service assists students to make decisions regarding their future career options or further study. A Counselling service is available to students on an individual basis to address issues of personal concern.
Students enjoy participation in various College activities such as the planning and operation of the Open Day, preparing and assisting with Photographic and Artwork exhibitions.
Social activities are an integral part
of college life. Students as per each course group elect
a student representative to participate on the Student
Representative Council (SRC). This Council meets on a regular
basis throughout the year to discuss matters of interest
to the students. The SRC is also responsible for organising
various social and fundraising activities within the College.
A member of the Council is nominated to represent the students
on the City of Dublin VEC Sub-Committee for Marino College.
For many years the College has provided a job placement service for students. Employers have come to appreciate the quality of our courses and the excellent calibre of the students that graduate each year. The excellent working relationship that we enjoy with employers through the work experience links is also a great source of securing permanent employment for a large number of the students each year. |
