Curriculum

Marino College offers Junior Cycle Education to girls and boys who have completed sixth class in a Primary School. All students are actively encouraged to strive for great success in all of their Junior Certificate subjects. The College has a clearly defined tutor system and guidance counselling service. Special education is available for students in need of additional help in English and Mathematics. Students in Junior Cycle follow a three-year programme leading to the Junior Certificate. We offer the following comprehensive range of subjects: - (All students take the core subjects and up to five of the optional subjects.)

Senior Cycle

Leaving Certificate

This is the traditional Leaving Certificate in which students select up to seven subjects.
English (Core), Irish (Core), Mathematics (Core), French (Core), Religion (Core), Art (including Craft), Geography, Construction Studies, History, Technical Graphics, Biology, Home Economics (S&S) & Business.
 

Leaving Certificate Applied Programme (LCA)

The Leaving Certificate Applied is a two-year self-contained programme. This Leaving Certificate is available to students who wish to follow a practical oriented programme. Continuous assessment is an important part of this programme with two thirds of the credits allocated for project work and attendance. The remainder of the credits are earned through written examination. Work experience is an integral part of this programme. Leaving Certificate Applied is awarded at three levels: Pass, Merit and Distinction.
