Junior Cycle

On enrolling in first year, our students begin the Junior Cycle programme. Key skills and Statements of Learning are embedded in each subject and lesson of the programme. In second and third year, all pupils engage in Classroom Based Assessments and Assessment Tasks in their subject areas.   

Core Subjects: English, Irish, Maths, History

Other possible subject areas: French, History, Science, Geography, Business Studies, Home Economics, Art, Materials Technology (Woodwork), Music, Religion, Physical Education, CSPE, SPHE

Short Courses: As part of the new Junior Cycle, students in Marino College engage with Short Courses. Students may be given the opportunity to study Artistic Performance. As part of the P-TECH programme, all junior cycle students will undertake Short Courses in Robotics and Coding.
